1. PDP Atiku Names Corrupt Persons in Buhari’s Government
The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has released a list of 30 alleged “corrupt” persons in President Muhammad Buhari’s government.
The list was released on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu Abubakar.
Among the alleged corrupt persons are: Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and a number of others.
He also stated that while most of these corrupt persons are members of the party, others always run to the party to seek refuge from anti-graft agencies.
2. IGP Disbands FSARS
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has ordered the immediate decentralization of the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), later FSARS unit.
Adamu gave the order at a meeting with Commissioners of Police and other high ranking officers in Abuja on Monday
According to him, this move will put commissioners of police in the 36 states and the FCT in full command and control of all SARS in their commands.
3. President Buhari Appoints New TETFUND Boss
President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Dr. Bichi Baffa and has appointed a new executive, Prof. Elias Suleiman Bogoro in his stead.
The newly appointed Executive Secretary of TETFund was formerly an Executive Secretary of TETFund. This is only a reinstatement.
4. Obasanjo is an Expired Politician – Tinubu
Bola Tinubu, a Chieftain of APC on Monday said former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’ s criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari, were attacks dished in bad faith.
According to him, Obasanjo is now an expired politician and should be ignored.
Tinubu who spoke in Maiduguri, noted that Obasanjo was not happy with the giant strides by the APC government as against PDP’s 16 years in power.
5. President Buhari Sympathizes with Victims of Collapsed APC Pavilion
President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathized with victims of the collapsed pavilion during APC rally in Borno State.
It was reported in the news that party men and women and a host of party supporters were injured when a pavilion crashed on party faithful.
Several party men and women at the rally had climbed onto the roofs of pavilions during the rally. One, however, came down crashing on other spectators.
A statement by Malam Garba Shehu in Abuja on Monday stated that the president, who expressed sadness over the incident, prayed for the quick recovery of the affected persons.
6. Key PDP Members Defect to APC at the Last Minute
Some key members of the PDP have formally defected to the APC at the last hour before the commencement of elections.
Some of the defected PDP big shots were former Governor of Borno State, Mohammed Goni among a host of others.
They were formally received into the APC at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri at the APC presidential rally on Monday.
The chieftains said they joined the APC to ensure Buhari is re-elected in the forthcoming February presidential election.
7. NBA Warns FG to Follow Due Process in CJN Onnoghen’s Prosecution
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has sounded stern warning to the Federal Government of Nigeria to stop the illegal prosecution of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, and follow due process.
According to the NBA President, Paul Usoro, on Monday in Abuja, the government should follow due process if its goal was to remove Onnoghen from office.
8. We ‘ll Resist Use of N-Power Staff in the Elections – Governor Wike
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has announced that any attempt to deploy N-power personnel as INEC adhoc staff in the forthcoming general elections would be resisted.
The Governor said this yesterday while speaking during the PDP rally at Ikwerre LGA of the state.
According to him, an N-power list has been concocted to favour the APC and help them rig the elections.
9. Woman dies in her sleep after fight with neighbour
